Thomas S. McAnally—Bishop with a Pastor's Heart-Kenneth W. Copeland • ISBN: 978-1-57736-378-1 • $24.95 • 272 pages • hardcover • 6x9 • Imprint: PHP

The mid-twentieth century was one of the most challenging and changing seasons for the modern church, and no one was better suited to lead and inspire at that time than Kenneth W. Copeland. This dynamic and compassionate man of God successfully guided his flock through racial integration, denominational unification, and changing social norms. From his early beginnings as a Methodist Protestant Church minister to his service as a United Methodist Church bishop, Copeland influenced lives, churches, and nations.

Bishop With a Pastor’s Heart follows Copeland’s career as preacher, pastor, and bishop in Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Texas, yet also shows the personal side of the man. Recollections from his daughters; wife, Catherine; and friends reveal Kenneth W. Copeland as a man of warmth, humor, wit, and passion.

Among his passions were preaching and evangelism, both of which are represented in five sermons rounding out Bishop With a Pastor’s Heart.

THOMAS S. MCANALLY received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Oklahoma City University before earning a master’s in mass communications from Syracuse University. McAnally served with Bishop Kenneth W. Copeland as director of communications for the Nebraska Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and was influenced to make working with the church his professional focus. McAnally has edited and written numerous articles for various publications. His first book, Questions & Answers About the United Methodist Church, has sold close to 200,000 copies. He has been honored with awards for writing and photography, and has received the United Methodist Association of Communications’ Communicator of the Year award. He was inducted into that organization’s Hall of Fame in 2005.
